Testimonials

After just moving to Orange County and trying an indoor/public pool, I wasn't really happy with my children's progress. I asked a couple of my friends for a referral and Miss Moira's name kept on popping up! My daughter started with Miss Moira when she was nearly two in the mommy and me class. My son, who had a fear of water, started when he was 4. Miss Moira had a way with him and didn't give into him because she knew he would be okay! He is confident now and it really helped his self-esteem! They LOVE swimming and every time I watch them during their lessons, I am amazed! We have been going to Miss Moira for two years now and I am looking forward to starting their lessons again in March!

Moira is an amazing teacher! We met Moira when my oldest joined her 'mommy and me' class about 6 years ago. We had tried other places and were not satisfied. Both of my boys are successful swimmers because of Moira. Moira takes the time to individualize swimming instruction so your child grows leaps and bounds. Moira guides your child to make excellent progress with her calm, structured, and encouraging style. I have seen Moira work with many personality types and she always teaches in a patient manner. After every lesson, we see our boys' swimming abilties grow. It has always been fun to experience how others react to their swimming abilities. People were so amazed that our boys swam at young ages without the help of floaties. They would jump in the pool, and swim back and forth with confidence. Moira has taught our boys to swim with pride, and to swim safely. Thank you Moira!

I found Miss Moira as my last resort. My daughter Taylor and I had been through 3 swimming programs. We tried private, group and a major program in Tustin. Taylor simply had a fear of having her head underwater. I had a serious fear of being in the pool with Taylor and Drew my 3 year-old. My friend Shannon told me about Moira. We started with Moira, and within a few lessons Taylor was underwater and swimming! Moira is a godsend for our family. I tell my story to any parent that may be in the same predicament or is looking for the best swimming resource available. Today, my son swims with Moira and Taylor was the top 50 yard freestyler in her summer swim league. We are thankful.

My four-year-old son was terrified to learn to swim, regardless of his three years of swim lessons at various OC pools prior to coming to Miss Moira. He would sit on the step and cry, refusing to put his face in the water or to venture into the pool without a float device. At first, his refusal to swim was seen a hindrance to our beach and pool play time. Then, one day my son fell into a friend's pool. Three years of swim lessons and still, in the face of emergency and frozen in terror, he did not even try to swim. My son was at the bottom of the pool, drowning. The next day I called Miss Moira in a panic; this was life and death now! She made a place for us and welcomed us. Miss Moira's gentle demeanor and patient tone allowed both my son and myself to breath a sigh of relief. She worked to encourage my son with firm conviction and she let him know that she was there and that he could swim. By the end of a couple of sessions the crying had stopped and my son was swimming across the pool. Miss Moira is unique; in her presence with children she portrays confidence and a reassuring manor and in her delivery of the techniques for swimming she is firm and confident. My son, after several schools and a frightening pool experience, has finally found a swim teacher who puts his needs first and who seems to understand him. I now refer to Miss Moira affectionately as 'the kid whisperer' and I am thankful that my family found her.
